Moin from Hamburg!

Do you know that feeling when your home is suddenly taken over by a colourful chaos of children's toys? That's exactly what we experienced when we became parents. Bright, garish colours everywhere, and us in the middle of it all, looking for beautiful toys and practical accessories that we parents like too and that still fit our budget. Not that easy, is it?

That's when we thought: Why don't we make them ourselves? High-quality, stylish and still affordable. Toys and accessories that not only encourage play, but also look good in any home. Modern design and muted colours.

It was a small challenge to get our (in-law) parents excited about this vision for bieco, but together we made it! 66 years of tradition, and with the change of generations we reinvented ourselves and created a range that is not only educationally valuable, but also a real eye-catcher.

We have been on this new path since 2020 and are super proud of it. And you know what? It looks like we're not the only ones who love our new direction. See for yourself!

For a beautiful home

Forget the garish, brightly coloured jumble! Inspired by the cool Scandi style, our toys not only provide plenty of fun for little ones, but also score points with their decorative value. In short, they are exactly what we would want in our own four walls too. The understated design blends harmoniously into your modern interior. So you can safely put off tidying up a little longer. Our motto: Less chaos, more fun and learning!

Buying guide: Who is it suitable for?

The Wooden Hedgehog Mobile is a decorative choice for parents who appreciate a nature-inspired design in the nursery. The materials wood and metal go well with a simple, timeless interior and can harmoniously complement other wooden accessories. As a prominent element above the changing area or in a quiet corner, it can provide visual stimuli without being overwhelming. If you value durable materials and prefer décor that evolves with the room’s style, this is a fitting choice. It also makes a great gift for occasions such as birth, christening, or first visits to new parents—especially if you’re looking for something beautiful for the room. If you already use wooden toys or wooden décor, the mobile will blend in visually. When deciding, pay particular attention to the intended location and a secure mounting option so it can be displayed decoratively.

What to look for in wooden mobiles

  • Material quality: Look for solid workmanship in wood and metal, smooth edges, and a consistent finish.
  • Weight and placement: Check whether the hanging position is suitable for the weight and will hold securely.
  • Mounting: Choose a secure hanging option suitable for the surface (e.g. ceiling, wall hook, mobile arm).
  • Cleaning: Low-maintenance materials can be cared for with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap.
  • Room concept: Colors and shapes should match the existing nursery décor and lighting conditions.
  • Reach: Plan the height so the mobile works as décor and cannot be pulled down unintentionally.

Ideas for use

  • Place above a quiet corner to create a gentle focal point in the room.
  • Decorate with a matching mobile arm on the crib or bedside crib, out of direct reach.
  • Mount higher above the changing area so it provides visual interest while you have both hands free.
  • Combine as part of a nature theme with wooden décor, fabric baskets, and warm tones.
  • Hang near a window in daylight so gentle air movement creates soft motion.
  • Pair as a gift with a card and a small wooden grasping toy.
  • Rehang as a seasonal décor element when rearranging the room.
  • Coordinate visually with a play gym area to create a harmonious overall look.

Care & safety

  • Care: Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap.
  • Placement note: Hang it so children cannot pull it down unintentionally.
  • Safety & compliance: Depending on the product, relevant safety tests and standards (e.g. EN 71 for toys) are used and documented. We can provide details on product-specific tests upon request.
