Moin from Hamburg!

Do you know that feeling when your home is suddenly taken over by a colourful chaos of children's toys? That's exactly what we experienced when we became parents. Bright, garish colours everywhere, and us in the middle of it all, looking for beautiful toys and practical accessories that we parents like too and that still fit our budget. Not that easy, is it?

That's when we thought: Why don't we make them ourselves? High-quality, stylish and still affordable. Toys and accessories that not only encourage play, but also look good in any home. Modern design and muted colours.

It was a small challenge to get our (in-law) parents excited about this vision for bieco, but together we made it! 66 years of tradition, and with the change of generations we reinvented ourselves and created a range that is not only educationally valuable, but also a real eye-catcher.

We have been on this new path since 2020 and are super proud of it. And you know what? It looks like we're not the only ones who love our new direction. See for yourself!

For a beautiful home

Forget the garish, brightly coloured jumble! Inspired by the cool Scandi style, our toys not only provide plenty of fun for little ones, but also score points with their decorative value. In short, they are exactly what we would want in our own four walls too. The understated design blends harmoniously into your modern interior. So you can safely put off tidying up a little longer. Our motto: Less chaos, more fun and learning!

Buying guide: Who is it suitable for?

The RASSEL HASE FINE is suitable for families looking for a first toy for newborns and young babies. With its compact size of 17 x 13 x 7 cm, it sits comfortably in smaller hands and is easy to hold and move. The mix of wood and polyester appeals to parents who like both a natural feel and a soft surface. Thanks to its low weight of 41 g, it’s easy to take along – for example, from the changing table to the living room or on short trips out and about. If you prefer minimalist baby essentials, you’ll find a single, clearly defined product here without accessories. As a small gift for a new baby or an addition to a baby starter set, the rattle fits into many gift sets. Please always plan to use it under supervision, especially in the first months.

What to look for in rattles

  • Material selection: Look for a pleasant feel; combinations such as wood and fabric/polyester offer hard and soft surfaces.
  • Size & weight: Compact dimensions and low weight make it easier for small hands to grasp.
  • Cleaning: Check whether hand washing or other care methods are recommended and plan cleaning into everyday life.
  • Safety: Follow age recommendations and always use rattles only under adult supervision.
  • Everyday suitability: A handy rattle is easy to organize in a diaper bag or nursery.

Ideas for use

  • During cuddle time, move it gently and offer first auditory stimuli.
  • During tummy time, hold it next to the baby and move the rattle alternately left/right.
  • Keep it handy as a small toy in the diaper bag.
  • Place it visibly in the nursery to provide regular, short play prompts.
  • Offer it in different positions for first grasping exercises, e.g., on the back or on the side.
  • Arrange it in a gift box for a birth together with a comforter.
  • Use it quietly while reading aloud to focus attention.
  • Alternate with other grasping toys to discover different textures.

Care & safety

Care instructions: hand wash. Age recommendation: from 0 months. Warning: Caution, use only under adult supervision. Safety & conformity: Depending on the product, relevant safety tests and standards (e.g., EN 71 for toys) are used and documented. We can provide details on product-specific tests upon request.
