Moin from Hamburg!

Do you know that feeling when your home is suddenly taken over by a colourful chaos of children's toys? That's exactly what we experienced when we became parents. Bright, garish colours everywhere, and us in the middle of it all, looking for beautiful toys and practical accessories that we parents like too and that still fit our budget. Not that easy, is it?

That's when we thought: Why don't we make them ourselves? High-quality, stylish and still affordable. Toys and accessories that not only encourage play, but also look good in any home. Modern design and muted colours.

It was a small challenge to get our (in-law) parents excited about this vision for bieco, but together we made it! 66 years of tradition, and with the change of generations we reinvented ourselves and created a range that is not only educationally valuable, but also a real eye-catcher.

We have been on this new path since 2020 and are super proud of it. And you know what? It looks like we're not the only ones who love our new direction. See for yourself!

For a beautiful home

Forget the garish, brightly coloured jumble! Inspired by the cool Scandi style, our toys not only provide plenty of fun for little ones, but also score points with their decorative value. In short, they are exactly what we would want in our own four walls too. The understated design blends harmoniously into your modern interior. So you can safely put off tidying up a little longer. Our motto: Less chaos, more fun and learning!

Buying guide: Who is it suitable for?

This hobby horse is suitable for children who enjoy imaginative role play and can already walk safely and coordinate their movements. Thanks to the Size S format, it is intended for children from around 3 years of age who can handle lightweight toys well. If you value classic materials, you’ll find a combination of wood and soft polyester here. This can provide a pleasant feel during play and invites creative stories about rides, tournaments, and obstacle-course play. For families, it’s practical when toys are easy to care for: According to the instructions, a damp cloth is all you need. Make sure there is enough space to run and that there are no tripping hazards in the play area. If you’re looking for a gift that combines movement and imagination, a hobby horse is often a great choice—especially for children who like horses and enjoy long role-play sessions.

What to look for in hobby horses

  • Material: A sturdy combination like wood and polyester can feel pleasant to the touch and provide a good grip.
  • Size and handling: Make sure the dimensions suit the child so the horse can be carried and guided comfortably.
  • Workmanship: Smooth surfaces and secure seams are important for comfortable, safe play.
  • Care: Models that can be cleaned with a damp cloth are especially practical for everyday use.
  • Safety: Follow age recommendations and only allow play under adult supervision. The play area should be free of obstacles.

Ideas for use / play ideas

  • Set up your own riding course with cushions or markers and playfully time laps.
  • Role-play riding school: Child guides the horse through walk, trot, and imaginary canter.

  • Invent riding-stable stories: Grooming, feeding in role play, and imaginative rides.
  • Cooperative game: Take turns being “rider” and “trainer” and give small tasks.
  • Color or shape search: During the ride, specifically find objects in certain colors.
  • Music game: “Ride” to your favorite song at a steady tempo and develop a sense of rhythm.
