Moin from Hamburg!

Do you know that feeling when your home is suddenly taken over by a colourful chaos of children's toys? That's exactly what we experienced when we became parents. Bright, garish colours everywhere, and us in the middle of it all, looking for beautiful toys and practical accessories that we parents like too and that still fit our budget. Not that easy, is it?

That's when we thought: Why don't we make them ourselves? High-quality, stylish and still affordable. Toys and accessories that not only encourage play, but also look good in any home. Modern design and muted colours.

It was a small challenge to get our (in-law) parents excited about this vision for bieco, but together we made it! 66 years of tradition, and with the change of generations we reinvented ourselves and created a range that is not only educationally valuable, but also a real eye-catcher.

We have been on this new path since 2020 and are super proud of it. And you know what? It looks like we're not the only ones who love our new direction. See for yourself!

For a beautiful home

Forget the garish, brightly coloured jumble! Inspired by the cool Scandi style, our toys not only provide plenty of fun for little ones, but also score points with their decorative value. In short, they are exactly what we would want in our own four walls too. The understated design blends harmoniously into your modern interior. So you can safely put off tidying up a little longer. Our motto: Less chaos, more fun and learning!

Buying guide: Who is it suitable for?

The Hedgehog storage basket is a practical solution when toys, accessories or textiles need to be tidied away quickly in the children's room, bathroom or living room. Thanks to its 38-liter volume, the basket offers enough space for medium-sized toy collections, building blocks, cuddly toys or laundry. The sturdy canvas material made of 60% cotton and 40% polyester is complemented on the inside by a PE coating, which makes the interior surface less sensitive to splashes of moisture and makes cleaning easier. The friendly hedgehog motif made of felt blends subtly into many children's room styles without being overpowering. For families who prefer flexible organization solutions, a single, portable basket is a great addition to shelves and boxes. If you like working with clear categories (e.g. building blocks separate from cuddly toys), you can combine several baskets with different motifs or colors. The specified dimensions help when planning where to place it on a shelf or next to the play area.

What to look for in storage baskets for the children's room

  • Material and inner coating: Textile canvas surfaces feel pleasant; an inner coating can make cleaning easier.
  • Size and volume: Check dimensions and capacity so that favorite toys or textiles really fit inside.
  • Handling: Light weight and easy-grip edges are practical in everyday life with children.
  • Care: Follow the care instructions so the material and motif stay looking nice for a long time.
  • Design: A motif that matches the room often motivates children to help with tidying up.
  • Placement: Before buying, think about where the basket should go so routes are short and tidying up is intuitive.

Ideas for use

  • Store favorite cuddly toys together in one place.
  • Quickly collect building blocks or tracks after playing.
  • Keep spare clothes or pajamas handy for the evening.
  • Gather picture books in the living room so they don’t end up scattered around.
  • Group care items together in the bathroom to keep things tidy.
  • Keep seasonal items like hats and scarves sorted in the hallway.
  • Collect laundry temporarily before it goes to the laundry room.
  • Role play: The basket becomes a treasure chest for dress-up items.
  • Building station: Bundle projects in bags and store them together in the basket.
  • Evening routine: Do a “put everything back in” round together with your child.

Care & safety

Care: Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap.
